That Samhain Special

This headline only makes sense if you happen to know the correct pronunciation of Samhain, (and if it wasn’t for a handful of spiritual yoga teachers over the years, I would be among that group too.) “Saa-win” shares its date with Halloween, and is a Celtic celebration marking the end of harvest season, and the beginning of winter – in a nutshell. Walking around the grounds of The Mount in Lenox on a cloudy afternoon the 31st of October, we got the distinct vibe that we were in the perfect spot for Matthew and Erin’s Samhain wedding.
These two had been planning their wedding for a LONG TIME, but arrived at their wedding at, we think, the exact right moment. The positive energy never waned, as festive family and friends – some clad in costumes – danced and mingled until the culmination of the evening, a midnight toast by the couple at their Seven Hills Inn wedding reception. Having this shoot behind us is bittersweet. No longer can we look forward to it, but we love this document of a totally original shoot with two perfectly present people. Congrats, Maerin!
